2016 Olympics

Rugby’s back.

For the first time in ninety-two years, rugby will be played during the Olympic Games. Deodoro Stadium in Rio de Janeiro will host the 2016 competition, featuring Rugby Sevens – a fast-paced seven-a-side version of rugby union where two teams attempt to score tries or win penalties, moving an oval-shaped ball from player to player by hand, always passing it backwards.

“I played ten injury-free years between the ages of 12 and 22. Then, suddenly, it seemed like I was allergic to the twentieth century.”

—Nigel Melville, Former England scrum-half
who spent most of the 1980s injured
